Many different and colourful Christmas markets will also be opening their doors on the second weekend of Advent. You can expect lots of tasty treats and, of course, arts and crafts. Discover fairytale winter worlds in the centre of the Christmas capital. This weekend, you can also look forward to two queer Christmas markets

Christmas with Pride: Queer Christmas in Berlin

In keeping with the glamour of the pre-Christmas period, you can look forward to two dazzling and absolutely queer Christmas markets this weekend! In beautiful Schöneberg, you can catch a glimpse of the LGBTQ+ community at two locations and celebrate togethernes and diversity in wintry splendour.

The Qweer Xmas Market celebrates diversity and creativity. Various artists, designers and entrepreneurs from the queer community come together to present their works and products. A diverse selection of lovingly handmade queer gift ideas awaits you at stands that tempt you to browse. Look forward to a colourful supporting programme while you enjoy a Christmas snack.

From the second Advent, the LGBTQIA+ Winterdays and Christmas Avenue welcome you to Nollendorfplatz. The Christmas market has now established itself in the LGBTQ+ community and also stands as a symbol against discrimination and marginalisation. Naturally, the focus is on LGBTQIA+ issues, but the Winterdays also offer a suitably glittering programme: delicious street food, mulled wine and unusual Christmas gifts. There will also be a varied stage programme with queer DJs, drag bingo and many other highlights!

It's cold outside. And what could be better than eating something really spicy? For example, the chilli eating competition or a hot wing challenge. In addition to the spicy competitions, over 30 suppliers of hot sauces, snacks and other culinary delights await you. Probably the spiciest Christmas market in all of Berlin!

At the Italian Market Christmas Festival you can expect Italian Christmas flair and, of course, a variety of Italian delicacies. Sample mulled wine made to an Italian recipe and enjoy delicious desserts. In addition to fresh pasta and pizza, the market offers you a festive programme: Italian music, craftsmanship from jewellery to soap -  all "Made in Italy".

The Markthalle Neun is a real classic in the Berlin food scene. That's why the Merry Markthalle should not be missing here. On 8 December, it will be transformed into a Christmas gourmet paradise. The international Christmas specialities, traditional treats such as gingerbread and roasted almonds and the organic wines will delight you. You will also find a large selection of arts and crafts - perfect for gift-giving if you are still looking for a Christmas present or two. The Merry Markthalle is committed to both sustainability and social responsibility. The products are often handmade and come from small manufacturers.

Berlin's neighbourhoods are home to many high-quality products that are not mass-produced. A visit to the arts and crafts Christmas market in Frohnau or the Kunst-Advent in Friedrichshagen is definitely worthwhile!

The Kladow Christmas Market is taking place this weekend on the Christmassy banks of the Havel in the very west of Berlin. Discover the many stalls with festive treats and gift ideas. There is also a varied programme for the little guests: They say you can catch Father Christmas on his boat, sailing across the Havel

Here, the name says it all: all kinds of unique items, handicrafts and special gift ideas await you. Made with a lot of passion, the sellers at their stands offer everything from dazzling jewellery, wooden designs and dolls to a wide variety of Christmas decorations. Important: No commercial merchandise is sold here!

If you want to experience a real neighbourhood Christmas market, you should definitely visit the Christmas market in front of the Böhan Museum. Away from the hustle and bustle of the big Christmas market at Charlottenburg Palace, the neighbourhood meets in the museum courtyard. The market is organised by "Kiezbündnis Klausenerplatz e.V.". Traders and local vendors present their products, which is why you can find one or two very special pieces of handicraft here.

The Old Rixdorf Christmas Market is all about charity and is unique in its form throughout Berlin. Here you will only find charitable and non-profit organisations, clubs and associations that offer handicrafts, jewellery, candles and much more. The proceeds go to charitable projects. Of course, there will also be plenty of food and drink on offer. A variety of traditional delicacies such as pea and potato soup, waffles and mulled wine are on the menu. Perfect for warming you up from the inside in cold temperatures.

You'll find a Christmassy neighbourhood atmosphere at the Alt-Kaulsdorf Christmas market. The market has been organised by the Marzahn-Hellersdorf local history association for 25 years. The almost 80 stalls, which are run by non-profit organisations and local residents, offer everything from bric-a-brac and toys to arts and crafts. Of course, there is also plenty to eat and drink. Look forward to Christmas market classics such as bratwurst, sweet delicacies and mulled wine.

Regional craft and gift ideas, wooden handicrafts and many other Christmas crafts can be found at the Altglienicker Advent Market. As well as a wide range of food and drinks. Many small campfires, where you can warm up with a delicious mulled wine, round off the cosy Christmas market experience. And for children, there will be participatory Christmas activities such as singing and baking.

The Kunst-Advent in Friedrichshagen is not your typical Christmas market. It takes place at a total of 15 locations: Friedrichshagen artists open their studios on the second weekend of Advent and present their work. You can expect everything from graphics and painting to calligraphy, porcelain and photography.

Wintery fairytale worlds

Gleaming lights and a magical atmosphere: Some Christmas markets focus on specific themes and transport us to other winter worlds. The Christmas market at Jagdschloss Grunewald and the Wolf&Else Christmas market take you to Christmas Fairytale Land. Both are well worth a visit!

Take a Christmas journey to fairyland! The Jagdschloss Grunewald hosts its annual Fairytale Christmas Market. Various fairytale characters come to life here and enchant you with a unique and festive atmosphere. So go in search of your favourite fairytale character, browse through the various stalls and enjoy a hot chocolate, mulled wine and roasted almonds. Incidentally, the Jagdschloss is the oldest preserved castle in Berlin. A guided tour of the castle is included in the Christmas market admission price. You shouldn't miss this opportunity!

The small Christmas market on Essenplatz also takes you on a magical journey to a Christmassy winter wonderland. This year, the market is taking place for the second time and offers you a selection of delicious treats, arts and crafts and a festive stage programme. When visiting the Christmas market, it is also worth making a detour to the Fairytale Quarter, where all the streets are named after famous fairytale characters.

You will find woollen blankets and knitwear from Norway, as well as typical household products. A must for all Scandinavia fans.

The Berlin Dog Christmas Market "Sirius" has been around for more than 10 years. As the name suggests, it's all about dogs. You'll find dog food, toys and accessories for your favourite companion. The organisers attach great importance to sustainable production and good quality products. And you won't miss out either: Enjoy the varied stage programme with mulled wine and typical Christmas market snacks. By the way, a portion of the entrance fee will be donated to the Berliner Tiertafel in the form of food.

Apart from the summer bathing season, the Orankesee lido is now organising the Orankelichter cultural Christmas market for the second time. You can expect atmospherically decorated trees and many stalls with festive offers. Here you will find everything from arts and crafts to Christmas delicacies. Live music, fire shows and a craft workshop for children are also part of the colourful and varied cultural programme. So there's plenty to discover and it certainly won't be boring!
