Norwegian Christmas Market

Christmas Market in Berlin on 9 December 2023

Velkommen til norsk Jul i Berlin - Welcome to the Norwegian Christmas Market in Berlin!

Also the Norwegian Sjømanskirken Municipality organizes its own small Scandinavian Julebasar and invites all Norwegians and friends of Norwegian culture to join. The Norwegian Christmas Market offers atmospheric music and a colorful offer from the far north, this year in a somewhat smaller form in the backyard in Wartenburgstraße 7.

Due to the current hygiene measures, only small items such as fish soup, "Sveler" and mulled wine will be sold for consumption. Instead, there will be an additional stand with Norwegian knitwear on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of Advent at another Christmas market in Berlin.

Until 2017, the Norwegian and Swedish communities have traditionally organised a Julebasar together, as the Scandinavians call the Christmas market, for more than 20 years. Now however, both communities have grown so much that there has been a separate Norwegian Christmas market in Berlin since 2018. In addition to the Danish, Swedish and Finnish Christmas markets, the Norwegian Christmas Market is now a must for all Scandinavian fans in Berlin.

Norwegian cuisine in a cosy ambience

At the Norwegian Christmas Market you have the unique opportunity to try sweet and hearty traditional Norwegian dishes such as reindeer ragout, fish soup, fish rissoles, Smørbrød open sandwiches with prawns, warm waffles and other Norwegian specialities. You can either enjoy the homemade delicacies in the warmth or take them home with you.

Norwegian food and other specialities

At various stands, exhibitors will also be selling great Norwegian products such as woollen blankets, scarves, hats and other knitwear, decorative and useful household products as well as Norwegian food.
