The bust of Nefertiti or Schliemann's Troy collection: The Museum Island Berlin, the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Berlin's historic centre, holds valuable treasures from 6.000 years of human history. This year, Museum Island will be celebrating a major anniversary: construction of the Altes Museum, the first of today's five world-famous major museums, began in July 1825. Events, exhibitions, concerts and cinema evenings are planned, we will keep you up to date here.

Around the 36th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the entire city will become a stage for courageous ideas and the development of joint initiatives. In addition to cultural events and workshops, the Berlin Freedom Conference on 10 November 2025 is the highlight of the Berlin Freedom Week.
World class: The National Football League NFL plays in Berlin

Goosebumps and cheers, not just from Berlin football fans: the biggest and most important football league in the world, the US National Football League NFL, is coming to Berlin for three regular season games from 2025! The first game will be played in the autumn - in the Olympic Stadium, of course. A high-calibre exhibition at the Museum Barberini in Potsdam and a smaller one at the Kupferstichkabinett Berlin are presenting important works by Wassily Kandinsky and the world's best-known artists almost simultaneously:Inside Expressionism. While you can follow the development of abstract painting in the 20th century in Potsdam, watercolours, drawings and prints from the Blauer Reiter network of artists are on display in Berlin. In addition to Kandinsky, you will see Klee, Marc, Heckel, Kirchner, Nolde, Pechstein, Delauny, von Jawlensky and many more.

35 years of the East Side Gallery
At 1,316 metres, the art mile on the banks of the Spree is the longest section of the Wall still standing today. Immediately after the fall of the Wall in November 1989, it was painted by 118 artists from all over the world. The open-air gallery opened on 28 September 1990 and is now celebrating its birthday with a new documentation centre and various events.
