Functioning lifts in public transport
The website brokenlifts.org gives you information about whether lifts on the Berlin U- and S-Bahn stations are working or out of order. This way, you have plenty of time to plan an alternative route through Berlin.
Assistance service for bus and rail
For those who cannot travel alone, more than 20 Berlin mobility help services are at hand to help. They offer older and disabled people assistance and pushing aid, such as collection from the airport, bus station, train station or transfer or excursion and shopping trips.

The assistance service of the Verkehrsverbund Berlin Brandenburg, in short VBB, will, for example, take you from the airport to the hotel and back again free of charge, and this applies to the entire city of Berlin.

Breakdown service for wheelchair users
If you have a problem with your wheelchair while you are on the move, these adresses will be happy to assist you. Rental companies for wheelchairs and resources provide a quick replacement in case of an emergency. You can also get help from the German Red Cross.

Employees at the Berlin tourist information will also provide you with competent information and tips on accessible Berlin. All locations are tested for disabled access according to the national labelling system Reisen für alle (Travel for all).
