According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation, insects are an extremely climate-friendly source of protein. At the Mikrokosmos Berlin restaurant you can try the future food insects for yourself. Here you can enjoy your dessert garnished with chocolate mealworms, optionally caramelised. The celery cutlet is breaded with cricket flour and the salsa for the stew is refined with insect croutons. The founding team's goal is to expand our food palette with sustainable ingredients. Since 2017, they have been on the road to break down inhibitions about the future food insects with tastings, cooking classes and events. With Mikrokosmos, they have now opened the first restaurant in Germany to offer insects as a standard ingredient on the daily menu.
