This Will Not End Well

In the upper hall, the Neue Nationalgalerie presents Nan Goldin with the retrospective "This Will Not End Well". Six rooms show her works in the form of slide shows and film projections, which are accompanied by sound and music. Goldin's works tell stories about love, intimacy, Addiction and loss.

With sometimes tender snapshots of intimacy and relationships, everyday life, wild parties and the struggle between addiction and independence, Goldin shapes her perception of her time to this day.

By focusing on slideshows and video installations, the exhibition goes back to the roots of Goldin's artistic practice. Goldin, who always wanted to be a filmmaker, sees the slide shows as film stills. "This Will Not End Well" takes up Goldin's original vision of how viewers should experience her art for the first time.

The exhibition tours the following museums: Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, Milan, Grand Palais, Paris.
