At the Impro '25 Festival, two different formats will be shown in each show from Tuesday to Thursday, which will be directed and performed by cast members. The festival highlight will then be on stage at the weekend: the premieres of the two brand new formats, which will be created by the international cast during the festival week.
The ‘IMPRO’, one of the largest festivals for improvisational theatre in Europe, has been bringing together different improvisational artists from around the world in Berlin almost every year since 2001.
From 1 to 6 April 2025, it will be that time again: IMPRO ‘25 “Formations” invites you to a week-long celebration of improvised theatre, organised by “Die Gorillas”.
As every year, the festival sees itself as a platform for trying out new improvisation formats and further developing existing ones at a high international level. In 2025, the festival is dedicated to exploring techniques, tools and approaches.
Workshops, masterclasses and performances provide the framework for the further development of the art of improvisation.
Improvisation is a living, breathing art. It is influenced by time, culture, politics and the individuals who practice it. Improvisation is also an art form that thrives on freedom, shared inspiration and collective, ongoing brainstorming.
