MaerzMusik has held a special place within Berlin's cultural scene since 2002. As one of the most important festivals for contemporary music in Germany, MaerzMusik celebrates the art of listening and the evolution of sound. Organised by the Berliner Festspiele, the festival presents a diverse range of contemporary music experiences, highlighting the intersection of artistic theory and sonic innovation.
MaerzMusik 2025 will take place from 21 to 30 March under the artistic direction of Kamila Metwaly.
The 24th edition of the festival, organised by the Berliner Festspiele, will open at 8pm on 21 March with the experimental music theatre show ‘MELENCOLIA’ by Brigitta Muntendorf and Moritz Lobeck at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele in cooperation with the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
The complete festival programme will be published in February 2025.
