"Wir haben es nicht gut gemacht."
More than 65 years after the beginning of an intensive exchange of more than 300 letters between the two writers of the century, Ingeborg Bachmann and Max Frisch, the long-awaited correspondence will be published in November: it bears witness to the life in search of love, recognition and freedom of one of the most famous couples in German-language literature. Constanze Becker and Matthias Brandt read from this previously unpublished contemporary document.
The previously unpublished correspondence paints a new, surprising picture of the relationship and calls into question traditional assessments and attributions of guilt.
