What could be better than a free summer evening in Berlin? At every corner there is something going on, the parks and lakes are ideal for relaxing, the bars and pubs invite you to a social evening with your best friends. If you don't have plans for the evening, let us inspire you! We have put together our best tips for your free evenings in Berlin!

Tip 1: A breathtaking view from the roof terrace

If you want to get high up, make sure you venture onto one of the many beautiful roof terraces. From here you can enjoy a great view over the city and relax with a tasty drink - whether it's a classy drink in the hotel bar or casually in the Klunkerkranich.

Tip 2: End the day at Tempelhofer Feld

On the Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin you have numerous possibilities to spend the evening after work. The former airport site has been transformed into the largest inner-city open space in the world, where you can play sports, relax and have a picnic or barbecue. And for those who prefer to be active: You can also play soccer, ride a bike, jog or skateboard on the extensive areas of Tempelhofer Feld. Concerts and other events often take place to brighten up your evening.

Tip 3: Go to the open air cinema

Cinema under the starry sky: Especially this summer, the open-air cinemas are a great opportunity for a relaxed evening with an exciting film. And in Berlin's open-air cinemas you will find a program for every taste, whether it's an action-packed blockbuster or sophisticated arthouse cinema. Make yourself comfortable in a deck chair and enjoy the film.

Tip 4: Relaxation in Viktoriapark and Golgatha Beer Garden

A relaxed stroll through Viktoriapark, getting cosy in a corner with a book, and enjoying Berlin in the evening - this is how you can enjoy your evenings! If you have children with you, you can stop by the small animal enclosure at the restaurant Tomasa. Or head all the way up to the National Monument, where a fantastic view of the capital awaits you. If you still need refreshment afterwards, then enjoy anther delicious drink in the Golgatha beer garden. You can also dance here, because Golgotha opens its doors until the early morning hours.

Tip 5: Enjoy your evening at Volkspark Friedrichshain

And here's another tip for an evening in Berlin! Pack a little something to eat and get cosy in Volkspark Friedrichshain. If you want, you can sizzle your meat at the barbecue area on the small Bunkerberg or enjoy a film in the Friedrichshain open-air cinema. There is also the Schoenbrunn Beer Garden in the park, where you can also get coffee or ice cream to go.

Tip 6: Sitting and relaxing on the banks of a canal

If you are looking for a cosy place to sit and relax in Kreuzberg, make your way to the Landwehrkanal! A little further out, but also very idyllic is the Teltow Canal.Take your friends and some cool drinks and find out how beautiful life can be. With a view of the canal you can watch the sun set, watch the hustle and bustle in the neighbourhood, swing your legs and unwind.

Tip 7: Sipping a coffee on the bank of the Maybachufer

After work in Neukölln? Why don't you sit down in one of the cafés on the idyllic bank of the Maybachufer? You can relax here, have a chat with good friends, or sip a delicious coffee.

Tip 8: Beach volleyball in the park and craft beer at BRLO Brwhouse

In the Park at Gleisdreieck in Kreuzberg, you can play a round of beach volleyball after work. You will quickly free yourself from the stress of office life and have a lot of fun at the same time! Next door you can try delicious craft beer at the iconic BRLO Brwhouse brewery. The building is also a real eye-catcher from inside and outside! Built from overseas containers, the brewery has a very special, rustic-urban flair.

Tip 9: Bring the evening to a close in the Tiergarten and Café am Neuen See

The Café am Neuen See is a classic amongst the beer gardens in Berlin. In the middle of the capital's second largest park - the Tiergarten - you can combine an evening walk with a cool drink under tall trees. The café is idyllic and somewhat hidden by Neuen See. If there are seats available, you can even sit right by the water on a pier-like terrace. Grilled, crunchy pretzels and tasty pizzas are served. You can refresh yourself with wine, beer, or soft drinks.

Tip 10: Bring your evening to a close at Ludwigkirchplatz

Ludwigkirchplatz is the perfect place to end your day in City West. You can end the day here with a glass of rosé or an aperol and take in the view of the beautiful St. Ludwig Church. On the green area next to the church you can relax on one of the benches around the fountain. Or you can visit Café Weyer right on the square, the place to be for the whole neighbourhood in the evenings.

Tip 11: Restaurant boat Alte Liebe

On Berlin's restaurant ships you can relax and enjoy your meal while the boat rocks quietly and you have a wonderful view of the water. Alte Liebe on the Havel looks back on a proud tradition. The best way to combine a visit to the restaurant ship with a bike tour or a bathing excursion to the Wannsee.
