The beer gardens all over Berlin simply belong to a nice afternoon and a balmy evening. There are so many and so different beer gardens: in the middle of the city, in the greenery, cool craft beer, cult Berliner Weiße, traditional houses and hip new discoveries. We have selected our Top 11 from the many beer gardens in the city.

Tip 1: Café am Neuen See

The tables are located under large trees and directly on the lakeside - in the middle of the Tiergarten. There is a rustic mixture of Bavarian and Italian specialities, i.e. Leberkäse and pizzas and of course freshly tapped beer. Take a seat on the beautiful wooden terrace and enjoy yourselves.

Tip 2: Berlin Brewdog

The historic building from 1901 is a real gem. The beautiful beer garden and the spacious restaurant await you with the usual selection of pizza, burgers and wings and countless types of craft beer, some of which are produced in the brewery itself.

Tip 3: Fischerhütte am Schlachtensee

Here it is particularly idyllic. In the middle of greenery and the view can wander over the lake, where paddlers are already venturing into the cool water. Before you stop for a bite to eat, you might want to take a little hike around the lake, it's especially relaxing. Either way you will have a good time in the beer garden Fischerhütte at Schlachtensee.

Tip 4: Golgatha Biergarten

Since 1977, the Kiez has been meeting Berliners from all over the city and visitors for breakfast in the morning, coffee in the afternoon and specialities from the charcoal grill in the evening. Take a look at the website to find out all about the weather-related opening hours.

Tip 5: Schleusenkrug

The Schleusenkrug is idyllically situated on the waterfront in the middle of the Tiergarten. You can either sit on the terrace and wave to the boats or refresh yourself in the garden under big trees. The Schleusenkrug is only a short walk away from Kurfürstendamm, so it's the perfect place to relax in the countryside, close to a shopping spree.

Hot pizza from the stone oven and cool drinks are served at the Baergarten at Revier Südost (formerly Griessmühle) on the grounds of the former Bärenquell brewery. The site also has a stage, a club garden and a flea market.

Tip 7: Tempelgarten

The Tempelgarten beer garden is located in the heart of Tempelhofer Feld. On offer is, of course, beer - whether from the tank, on tap or in the bottle - and many other refreshing drinks. There are also home-made dishes and home-baked cakes - and Sicilian ice cream from the trendy DUO from Kreuzberg.

Tip 8: BRLO Brwhouse

The Berlin craft beer brand BRLO has long been known and loved beyond the city limits. In the meantime, there is also a popular beer garden at the Brwhouse in the Park am Gleisdreieck where you can try the different varieties.
By the way: BRLO is derived from the old Slavic origin of the name Berlin.

Tip 9: Prater

Berlin's oldest beer garden will open again in the course of the coming week! Since 1837, Berliners and visitors have been enjoying their beer and delicious home cooking under the large trees of the beer garden in the Prater.

Tip 10: Brauhaus Berlin Spandau

This restaurant in Spandau's old town serves homemade rustic dishes made from regional products and home-distilled beer. Every month there is a different variety from Christmas beer to Märzen and Maibock. You can also book a guided tour of the brewery.

Tip 11: Fischer & Lustig

Fischer & Lustig is starting the new season with Holger Mootz as head chef. On the pretty terrace in the middle of the Nikolai quarter with a view of the Spree, you can enjoy delicious fish dishes as well as hearty home cooking.
