World Hat Walk 2025

This global event, which originated in Barcelona and has now expanded to cities around the world, brings together hat lovers, designers and style enthusiasts to showcase the art of hat making in a unique way.


A global phenomenon: from Barcelona to Berlin

The World Hat Walk was launched in Barcelona, Spain, in 2014 to celebrate the art of millinery and unite hat enthusiasts. The initiative quickly gained momentum and inspired cities around the world to organise their own hat walks.


Berlin took part in this tradition for the first time in 2024, signalling the growing enthusiasm for hat culture in the city.


Tatiana Ashakova, the driving force behind the walk, sustainable fashion curator and fashionista behind her brand BeretkAh...! organised the first hat walk in Berlin. Over 60 participants presented their creative and stylish headwear. The event ended at the Art City People Café in Hackmann Höfe and emphasised Berlin's commitment to community and artistic expression.

Global participation in 2025

The World Hat Walk 2025 will be the largest edition yet, with over 40 cities worldwide participating simultaneously on 27 April 2025. Cities such as London, Oslo and Graz as well as smaller towns such as Fakenham and Norfolk have announced their participation, reflecting the growing international appeal of this event.

What can participants expect in Berlin 2025?

The 2025 edition offers exciting new programme items that will make the experience even more interactive and unique:


- Children's Hat Making Corner - A creative area where children can design and create their own hats to develop a passion for millinery from an early age.

- Dress-Up Lounge by Dress Up Lounge Rental - An exclusive opportunity to try on exceptional Royal Ascot-style designer dresses, complemented by unique hats from BeretkAh.

- Culinary experiences at the Art City People Café - The stylish Art City People Café in the Hackmann Höfe spoils guests with fine and exquisite treats, ideal for an elegant afternoon.

- Style competition - A renowned jury will judge and award prizes for the most impressive outfits and reward the best creativity and elegance.

- Charity Fashion Show & Auction - A glamorous presentation of unique fashion creations that will be auctioned off in aid of the German Brain Foundation to support neurological research and counselling.

- Millinery and fashion works exhibition

A celebration with social commitment

The World Hat Walk Berlin is not just a fashion event, but also a charitable initiative. Like last year, the event will collect donations for the German Brain Foundation to promote research and offer important support to those affected by neurological diseases.
