His trio with guitarist Florian Segelke and drummer Sven Tappert has been around for almost 20 years.
Using a five-string double bass with a high C-string built especially for him, Jaspar Libuda creates timbres reminiscent of cello, percussion, guitar and oud. Guitarist Florian Segelke uses his eight-string classical guitar, electronic effects and various strumming techniques to create a sound spectrum that oscillates between rich bass, powerful distorted and delicate, classical guitar tones. Using bars, percussion and drums, drummer Sven Tappert layers both pads and rhythms on top of each other, simultaneously gentle and powerful. Together, the three musicians weave melodies and silence into a dense world of sound.
