Christmas is a holiday steeped in tradition: we decorate our homes, visit Christmas markets, get together with family and friends, celebrate and dine, give each other presents and perhaps go to church.

Where do these traditions come from? How did people celebrate in the past and what do we know about the Christmas customs of the royal family?
In the approximately one-hour tour through selected rooms, we talk about the history of Christmas in Berlin and provide insights into the past of Charlottenburg Palace, which was a popular place for festivities, especially in the 18th century. Anyone who would like to find out more about Christmas and discuss festive traditions with others is very welcome - regardless of whether and how you celebrate Christmas yourself.
Please note: The guided tours on 1 December and 15 December are aimed specifically at adults. On the other two Sundays in Advent, we offer guided tours for families with children. The programme can be booked for groups on Tuesdays to Thursdays during Advent.
