After the Olympic Games, the Football World Cup, the Cricket World Cup and the Super Bowl, the UEFA EURO 2024 is one of the biggest sporting events in the world. This statistically calculated ranking is based on the number of spectators worldwide. And depending on the match, that's up to 380 million people!

During the tournament period from 14 June to 14 July, the football teams will compete against each other over 22 days. A total of 51 football matches will take place in ten German cities, six of them in Berlin's Olympic Stadium, including the grand final on 14 July.

Here is the overview:

  • Sunday 14 July 2024: Final (9 p.m. CEST)

Under the motto "EURO 2024 will be our game", Berlin is focussing on climate protection, anti-discrimination and inclusion at the European Football Championships - and also wants to serve as a practical example for future events.

In addition to large, infrastructural projects such as the removal of barriers, new drinking fountains and bicycle parking spaces, the use of solar energy or the implementation of a circular economy, many exciting small projects are being initiated at district level that aim to achieve a lot together locally.

For example, as part of "Euro24 - Clean Game" in Mitte, Berlin guests will be informed about the topic of reusable packaging by trained staff in costume. Champions ohne Grenzen is launching a sports and health programme for refugee women aged 45 and over, while Buntkicktgut invites young people from all backgrounds to get active at KiezKick. Street football, graffiti and hip hop workshops are planned.
