Aim high in Berlin in August. With Serenity Rooftop, a new rooftop lounge with spectacular views is opening at the Waldorf Astoria. Together with the champagne brand Veuve Clicquot, Stilian Laufer and his team (you might know him for 40seconds Club or Golvet) have developed a promising concept for the stylish location. Enjoy sunny afternoons and beautiful evenings with a breathtaking view - and sunset - over Berlin. At the weekends, DJs spin the turntables to charge up the atmosphere with summery sounds and beats

Tip 2: Find your balance in the new high ropes arena
You can also aim high at the workshops at the new high ropes arena on Tempelhofer Feld. But don't worry, you'll start your tightrope act on the slackline at a very low 50 centimetres. More experienced high-wire walkers can then test their balance at a loftier height - up to six metres. Anyone aged 13 and over can take part. Please register in advance for the workshop that suits you best.
Tip: At the Circus and High Ropes Festival on 14. & 15 September from 12 noon to 6 p.m., you can get a taste of thightrope walking free of charge. Hold your breath while watching exciting circus acts and high-wire performances.

Tip 3: Take off at the newly opened Race Factory
Have you ever dreamt of being a race car driver? Then the newly opened Race Factory in Spandau is the perfect test track for you. Eight simulators offer you real racar feeling, so you can really put yourself into the bends at top speed. Races with several people for the trophy. The ultra-long Carrera tracks and the large gaming area also promise plenty of fun. Afterwards, you can relax in the lounge with snacks and drinks.

Tip 4: Toast in the new Augustiner pub and beer garden
The hearts of all Munich locals in Berlin will beat faster now, because there is finally a real Augustiner beer garden in the capital. Located on the beautiful, historic site of the Bötzow brewery, the beer garden is modelled on Munich standards. Around 1919 Wilhelm Pieck, former president of the GDR, and Karl Liebknecht met here. Today the area also hosts a start-up campus. A restaurant connected to the beer garden will open in September.
When: daily 11 am - 10 pm
Where: Prenzlauer Allee 242, Prenzlauer Berg
Tip 5: Play for your soul in the Halle am Berghain
Right at the entrance you get your "soul code", which you can then improve - or at least change - at various stations during your stay. With The Soul Station, artist Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley invites you to engage with your individual experiences and prejudices. The exhibition of the LAS Art Foundation in the Halle am Berghain is the first solo show of the artist, who primarily deals with ethical and moral issues in her works. Black and trans* people take centre stage. Themes are slavery, colonialism, corruption and social power structures.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is the new commissioned work "You can't hide anything" (until 8 September). Gather around a gaming chair in a centrally positioned amphitheatre. You will find yourself in a fictitious parallel society in which those previously in power are judged after the revolution. From 12 September, during Berlin Art Week, this episode will be replaced by the second part " Are you soulless, too?".
When: until 13 October
Where: Halle am Berghain, Am Wriezener Bahnhof, Friedrichshain
Tip 6: Taco and Gringo open in Berlin
A new Mexican restaurant not far from Hackesche Höfe on Rosenthaler Straße is tempting you with fresh tacos, guacamole and margaritas. With cheerful squeaky pink furnishings and large green cacti, the new shop has a pleasantly authentic feel. The mascots are two wrestlers, whose typical masks adorn the serving trays on which you are served your quesadillas, burritos, nachos and tacos. Buen provecho!

Tip 7: Haubentaucher is now called Maaya
Berlin has a new African cultural hotspot: Haubentaucher, the popular party location with pool on the RAW site, is being taken over by the African DJ collective Freak de l'Afrique and renamed "Maaya". Maaya is a term from Pan-Africanism, i.e. the community of all people with African roots worldwide. And community is exactly what is now being celebrated in the new Maaya. You'll find a gallery, a marketplace, a beer garden, performances and, of course, parties. Don't forget your swimsuit!
When: depending on the event
Where: Revaler Straße 99, Friedrichshain
Tip 8: Try Chinese street food at Mala House
At Malatang, you put together your own dish. Fill your bowl with your favourite ingredients and hand it in at the checkout for weighing. This is also where you add your favourite broth. Vegetarians are best off choosing the tomato flavor. Then all you have to do is pay, wait a short while and refine your malatang dish with toppings.

Tip 9: Flohkids opens in Berlin
Moms and Dads can sing a song about it: Little ones grow out of their clothes way too quickly - and need new ones. Handy if you have relatives or friends to swap with. If not, then maybe Flohkids is the answer for you. Founder Anja originally launched her permanent flea market for children's clothes, games and furniture in Hamburg. Now the clever concept is coming to Berlin. You can book your stand via the website, choose the start date and duration and add your products with the prices you want. Everything else, such as shelves, hangers and labels, is provided on site. Flohkids employees take care of the actual sales. You can track your sales success online - and of course shop at Flohkids yourself.

From Friday to Sunday, live DJs get you in party mood at the roller disco and the culinary village around the roller rink offers delicious refreshments and snacks. If you don't feel quite at home on skates or would rather just watch the rolling fun, you can make yourself comfortable in the lounge area. There is also a live stream, which broadcast the best scenes directly from the roller skating rink on a 4 x 5 screen.

Döner Game in Wedding
With balloons, free merchandise T-shirts and, of course, the tried-and-tested 1 cent kebab offer, Döner Game opened its doors for a new branch in Wedding in July. It is currently the 44th in Germany and the tenth branch in Berlin! Next to kebab with chicken, veal or steak you get Belgian fries and sweet potato fries, as well as unusual sauces such as truffle mayo or gold leaf for an extra three euros. Try it yourself!
