The best bands of all genres in one city

The German capital is second-to-none when it comes to live gigs that take place daily across the city's eclectic pockets. Whether in piano bars, factories, swanky clubs or old dance halls, live music is the lifeblood of Berlin's music scene.  With room for 2,000 music enthusiasts, the Astra Kulturhaus in Friedrichshain is one of the larger of the more intimate stages. Well-known bands of all genres between metal and hip-hop perform here. Similarly, the Lido in Kreuzberg, where indie and alternative are on the agenda. THE location for friends of jazz is the A-Trane, where every well-known Berlin jazz artist performs. Jazz, soul and blues legends have been playing at the Quasimodo in Charlottenburg since 1975. Another classic is Yorckschlösschen in Kreuzberg, known for its swing, soul, jazz and funk affairs. Dive into the city's punk scene at SO36 where Iggy Pop and David Bowie have both performed.
