Funicular on the Kienberg

Funicular and viewing platform: a visit to the Kienberg is always worthwhile!

The cable car over the Wuhletal is now in long-term operation following the dismantling work for the IGA 2017. It connects the Kienberg underground station with the top of the hill and the Gardens of the World visitor centre.

Bobsleigh run and panoramic view

Once on top of the Kienberg, you can visit the Wolkenhain viewing platform. From here, you can enjoy outstanding views over the Gardens of the world, the city and beyond.

Another highlight is the natural bobsleigh run: at 40 kilometres per hour, you travel 500 metres through the park's landscape into the valley. You can then sit back, relax and let the conveyor belt take you back up the mountain. The cable car runs daily from April to September from 10.30 am to 6 pm (from 8 March until 4 pm, closed on 13 March).

Free exhibition in the valley station

At the Gardens of the World valley station on Blumberger Damm, you can now visit the "Climbing Gardens of the World" exhibition. This free exhibition presents interesting climbing gardens and their designers.

Our tip:

All cable car stations are located outside the Gardens of the World, so you can take a ride without entering the park.
