On 10 May 2025, Berlin will celebrate a special anniversary: 10 years of the Day of Urban Development Funding. For a decade, this day of action has been inviting people to experience urban development up close. This year, more than 40 projects throughout Berlin will once again open their doors – from educational institutions and neighbourhood initiatives to parks and green spaces.

A day full of discoveries
From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., there are numerous opportunities to explore Berlin in a new way. Guided tours, construction site visits, reading festivals, theatre performances and hands-on activities show how urban development funding makes neighbourhoods more vibrant and livable.
Highlights 2025
- Discover new neighbourhood centres – such as the decentralised district centre Rixdorf or the newly renovated youth leisure centre Naunynritze.
- Experience urban development up close – with a construction site visit to the Schäfersee library or an exhibition on the neighbourhood square in the Kosmosviertel.
- Green oases for the future – guided tours and participatory activities for sustainable park design in Urbanhafen, Fritz-Schloß-Park and Langhanskiez.
- Celebrate and shape together – from reading festivals and neighbourhood parties to discussion rounds with urban planners.
- Urban development funding creates places for people to meet, learn and get exercise – and makes Berlin an even better home for everyone.
