The exhibition shows six young artistic positions on the subject of surrealism and photography on the occasion of the show "FOTOGAGA. Max Ernst and Photography. The Würth Collection as a Guest", which can be seen at the Museum of Photography until April 27, 2025.

"Surrender to the Dreamers" sees photography as a medium that exceeds the boundaries of the visible and goes beyond pure sensory perception.

In both exhibitions, artists use photography to reveal the hidden and create previously unknown, fascinating visual worlds.

Through experimental interventions and unconventional techniques, the participating artists transform photographic images into living narratives that go far beyond the boundaries of the visible:
They bring hidden family histories to light, focus on forgotten people or reconstruct lost archives. This is not about simply escaping into fantasy worlds - rather, their works question common representations of reality and critically engage with them.

With the help of imagination, fiction and reconstruction, the artists use photography as a tool to open up new perspectives and renegotiate personal, familial and collective memories. The photographic image is not a finished end product, but a flexible material that can be changed, shaped and reinterpreted in order to make gaps visible and bring lost stories back into consciousness.
