To be celebrated as one of the most important songwriters of your generation in your early 20s is both a great honor and an enormous responsibility. But if anyone lives up to this title, it is Briton Sam Fender - who took the music world by storm with his mega hit "Seventeen Going Under".

Sam Fender - People Watching Tour 2025 live in Berlin

Born in 1994 in North Shields in the north-east of England, Sam Fender grew up in difficult conditions. The early separation of his parents led him to music at a young age, which became his way out of a harsh reality. While many of his working-class friends drowned their hopelessness in drugs, Sam found solace in his guitar and in the songs of Jimi Hendrix and Bruce Springsteen. After dropping out of school early to support his mother with odd jobs, he was discovered in 2011 by Owain Davies, Ben Howard's manager. His debut single "Play God" was released in 2017 and quickly attracted attention in the British indie rock scene, even earning a place on the FIFA soundtrack.

With his first EP "Dead Boys", Sam Fender performed in Europe and Australia before winning the Critics' Award at the Brit Awards in 2019. His debut album "Hypersonic Missiles" went straight to number one in the British album charts and was hailed by the press as one of the most outstanding albums of the year.

His second album "Seventeen Going Under" (2021) followed on seamlessly from this success, reaching the top position again and going double platinum in the UK. Fender's powerful songs tell of the challenges of his life and reflect the struggles of the British working class in a unique way.

As a live artist, Sam Fender inspires with energetic performances, whether in large stadiums or small pubs. He has opened for legends such as Liam Gallagher, Bob Dylan and Neil Young and performed at iconic festivals such as Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds.

His anthemic songs get audiences everywhere singing along and feeling the emotion.

At the beginning of next year there will be a chance to enjoy this unique experience live:

Sam Fender is bringing his third album "SF3" to Berlin for a cool concert on February 21, 2024 as part of the People Watching tour.
