Tailwind. More city for the bike!
The exhibition ‘Tailwind. More city for the bike!’ at the German Museum of Technology in Berlin from 29 November is all about cycling in the city.
The focus is on the rise of the bicycle as a popular means of transport for everyone.
Milestones in recent cycling history are on display across 500 square metres: from early mountain bikes and BMX bikes to modern e-bikes and cargo bikes.
At the same time, the focus is on current conflicts on roads and footpaths. How can the limited space in the city be sensibly distributed? What does it take to resolve the conflicts sensibly?
"Rückenwind" is pointedly illustrated by the Berlin pop artist Jim Avignon.
Experimental stations turn the exhibition into an interactive experience for the whole family. A free accompanying programme for school classes and families and a children's podcast complement the exhibition.
