Berlin's biggest electronic music party

Once a year, Berlin cements its status as the global capital of electronic music with Rave the Planet, a massive open-air rave and cultural demonstration. The festival draws thousands of music lovers from around the world to dance, celebrate unity and experience the city's legendary techno scene. With pounding basslines, live DJ sets and a festive atmosphere, it's a powerful tribute to the spirit of electronic music and its cultural significance.

Rave the Planet at a glance

Every year, in the heart of Berlin, the Straße des 17. Juni and the surrounding Tiergarten transform into one of the world's biggest outdoor raves. Thousands of techno lovers and festival-goers from all over the globe gather to celebrate not just music, but the spirit of community, freedom and peace.

Inspired by the legendary Love Parade of the early 2000s, Rave the Planet honours the legacy of street raves that helped shape Berlin's global reputation as the techno capital. The streets come alive with mobile DJs performing on trucks, or 'floats', each one equipped with powerful sound systems, free for all to enjoy.

Discover Rave the Planet

Rave the Planet was created in 2019 by Dr. Motte, the father of the Berlin Love Parade, and other techno enthusiasts to preserve the scene and ensure its legacy for future generations. This event celebrates Berlin's club culture while emphasising social responsibility, environmental awareness and cultural appreciation.

Rave the Planet fuses the excitement of a festival with the significance of a cultural movement, drawing attention to the value of electronic dance music as a form of artistic expression and its role in bringing people together.

Berlin's techno culture was officially added to Germany's UNESCO cultural heritage list in 2024. This recognition is not just a victory for techno lovers but also for cultural diversity, showing the world that techno music is more than just beats – it's a cultural force that fosters unity and social change.
