Interdisciplinary festival with music, theater, dance, performance
In 2025, the third edition of the "Into the Open" festival will once again invite you to a diverse program. A total of six concerts will bring together renowned institutions and artists such as Francesco, the International Ensemble Modern Academy, Opus Classic prize winners and the Sokhumi State Drama Theater with representatives of the independent scene.
Into the Open 2025: Rituals
The festival brings international influences from Lithuania, France and Georgia and includes three world premieres composed especially for this edition. These new works underline the festival's interdisciplinary approach. During the festival days, the Kühlhaus Berlin will become a unique and impressive backdrop for exciting artistic encounters.
Into the Open is an interdisciplinary festival that combines classical music with various art forms, opening up new perspectives on the music experience.
The innovative approach ranges from electronic music, visual art, multimedia installations and dance to lighting design and experimental film. It is aimed at everyone who appreciates and wants to experience art in all its diversity.
The 2025 edition is themed “Rituals” and will take place from January 28 to February 2, 2025 in the Kühlhaus Berlin. Rituals have always shaped human life: they create social cohesion, enable spiritual experiences and cross boundaries. From ancient ceremonies to modern traditions, rituals reflect the individual and collective spirit.
Into the Open 2025 explores the meaning and diversity of rituals through music and performance. It invites you to aesthetic and playful experiments that overcome time and space and create new synergies - between past and present, personal experience and communal expression.
The festival will be a place of celebration, exchange and reflection on the central role of music in the design and preservation of rituals.
