After her successful exhibition at the Rencontres d'Arles photography festival in the summer of 2020, Berlin-based photographer Nadine Dinter is presenting her series Torso Reloaded as part of the exhibition PRIMAL MATTER 4.0 at the prideART studio house in Berlin.

For the first time, Dinter is expanding her series, which has so far focused on male models, to include photographs of female torsos, thus creating an exciting new dimension to her project.

The exhibition ‘TORSO RELOADED II’ is a continuation of the series created in 2012 together with former erotic model Benjamin Godfre, which was created as an homage to Andy Warhol's famous ‘Torso’ series from 1977.

As usual, the presentation will be complemented by an extraordinary interior design that highlights the unique exhibition venue.

The photographs were taken between January 2022 and May 2024 at various locations in Berlin, including a sun-drenched hotel suite and a photo studio. In Dinter's works, the models‘ faces are replaced by individual physical features such as tattoos and scars. These special details represent their life stories, emotions and preferences – and merge through Dinter's lens into unique artistic compositions. The models’ personal jewellery adds further highlights.

About the photographer

Nadine Dinter has been taking photographs since 1991, specialising in sculpture and portrait photography. Her first exhibition took place at Schering AG in 1998, followed by presentations in Berlin and New York, including Project Angel + Project Angel Reloaded (2001, NYC), Essence of Winter (2002, NYC) and Janus-Faced (2013, Berlin). Her works from the Torso Reloaded series have already been shown at Hotel Bogota (Berlin, 2013), The Ballery (Berlin, 2021), HAZEGALLERY (Berlin, 2022) and east Hotel (Hamburg, 2023). Since 2006 she has been working as a commissioned photographer for various publications. Her works have been represented by akg-images since 2000 and by THE BALLERY from 2025.

Organiser & exhibition highlights

In addition to Nadine Dinter's works, the rooms of the prideART studio house showcase works by Ralf König, Peter Berlin, Michael Childers, Henning von Gierke and Julian Hsiung. The annual Easter exhibition presents over 40 artists from four continents with around 200 works in a wide range of styles.
The exhibition house itself is a historical highlight: once a prison, the prideART studio house now accommodates around 20 artists on three levels, who work and present their work here. Showrooms and production studios can now be found in the former lock-up cells, grouped around an imposing atrium light well.

As a non-profit artists' association with no commercial interests, prideART Berlin offers a platform for queer and queer-friendly creatives of all ages, gender identities, ethnicities and nationalities. Painting, photography, sculptures, ceramics, short films and more are presented.
