Film&Talk #2030 – Season 15
Cathrina Balthasar from the Environmental and Nature Conservation Agency will be joining us for the discussion. She is a geoecologist and is currently pursuing her doctorate at the Senckenberg German Entomological Institute in Müncheberg and the University of Potsdam. Her dissertation focuses on the effects of forest fires on moth species communities.
In the dense forests of the eastern Himalayas, moths softly whisper their secrets. Two inquisitive scientists illuminate the darkness of the night, venturing into this hidden world.
Together, they set off on an expedition to unlock the mysteries of these nocturnal creatures in a remote ecological "hot spot" on the border between India and Bhutan. The outcome is a profoundly immersive film that transports audiences to a rarely explored place, urging us all to examine the unseen connections of the natural world more closely.
