Most Wanted: Music is the biggest music business event in Berlin and an up-and-coming hotspot for music and creative industry experts from all over Europe.
MW:M is organised by the Berlin Music Commission. With Most Wanted: Music, the Berlin Music Commission is driving the development of the music and creative industries - by inspiring new ideas and business models, sharing the latest expertise and promoting networking and collaboration.
MW:M consists of the MW:M Convention, the Listen to Berlin: Awards and the international showcase event MW:M Live.
The motto of this year's MW:M is Monetise! It's about music, money and fair distribution.
With current record profits, how can the music industry ensure that everyone earns enough for their work and successes? Creatives, business owners and musicians today have countless technologies and strategies at their disposal to generate attention and growth.
MW:M24 has a special focus on this development: "Monetise! is not just a motto, but a call for innovation and sustainable growth in the sense of a friendlier, fairer and more profitable music industry.
Programme highlights:
12 November
- Opening with the LISTEN TO BERLIN: AWARDS – honouring outstanding achievements in Berlin's music scene in eight categories, including sustainability, innovation and a youth prize.
13 & 14 November
- CONVENTION – a conference programme on topics such as monetisation, sustainability, power structures and technological developments in the music industry.
- Over 30 live acts, including up-and-coming artists from Brandenburg, Ireland, Poland and Saxony.
Three new projects:
- LISTEN TO BERLIN: YOUTH - Supporting the next generation of the music industry
- MW:M Research - Collaborative format with academic partners
- Dogaja - Intercultural exchange with a focus on Eastern Europe
Over 130 speakers, including Ellen Allien (DJ), Ghostpoet (artist), Jay Ahren (Association for Electronic Music), Mark Reeder (music producer, filmmaker) and many more.
MW:Live - Showcases for the first time on two evenings with national and international artists and a special focus on Brandenburg.
