Liana Flores' debut album Flower of the Soul is steeped in transformation. It deals with themes such as the changing seasons and the changing nature of love, which run like a common thread through her music. In her dreamlike compositions, the British-Brazilian songwriter from London combines intimate worlds with melancholic, driving guitar melodies that her fans can lose themselves in.

Flower of the Soul, which was created over three years, is a meditation on transience. It combines stylistic influences from British folk ("Crystalline"), classic jazz ("I Wish for the Rain") and Brazilian pop of the 60s ("Butterflies").

Liana has always had a special feeling for musical moments. She played melodies by ear on her keyboard before taking piano lessons in elementary school and later switching to guitar. In her late teens, she discovered the bossa nova songs from her mother's home country of Brazil and fell in love with the harmonic language of the genre.

Writing her own songs began as a creative outlet for Liana during her turbulent teenage years. She soon discovered her talent for turning everyday experiences into fascinating songs. She often found inspiration in unexpected places, like a fortune cookie with the message "Imagination is the eye of the soul." This phrase reminded her of a line from one of her favorite Kate Bush songs and helped her come up with the name of her debut album, Flower of the Soul.

Flower of the Soul was recorded with producer Noah Georgeson and features musicians such as Chris Bear on drums and Brazilian music virtuoso Jaques Morelenbaum. The album includes eleven tracks full of escapist bliss.
