In this musical, the classic Christmas story meets queer satire:
the Holy Family, the three kings and unexpected cult figures such as the Grinch and the Krampus cast the nativity play in a completely new light.
The plot may sound familiar, but it is anything but ‘classic’.
The nativity play is completely turned on its head and reimagined. What would the birth of Jesus have been like if there had been Insta-Stories and a bouncer at the door of Bethlehain back then?
Holy Glory is not a simple drag performance, but a musical in two acts, each at least 45 minutes long, filled with love, drama and sharp punchlines.
Handwritten and staged by the Duct Tape collective, the handmade sets and glamorous costumes are impressive. As soon as the glitter falls, the stage is transformed into a sacred drag temple! Characters like the Grinch and Krampus get their very own queer twist here and, like the entire ensemble, are presented in full glamour.
