Discover the Generali Berlin Half Marathon
The Generali Berlin Half Marathon is a key event on Berlin's sports calendar. The race has roots stretching back to the early 1980s when East and West Berlin each held their own events: the Peace Run in the East and the SC Charlottenburg Half Marathon in the West. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, these two events were united in 1990, creating a new, larger race that symbolised the reunification of the city.
Since then, the Berlin Half Marathon has grown into a massive international event, with over 35,000 athletes participating annually. The flat, 21.0975-km course is ideal for those chasing personal bests or even world records. For spectators, the half marathon offers an opportunity to see some of the world's top runners in action while exploring Berlin's most famous sites.
