With construction work about to begin, this is the last chance to see the masterpieces of Babylon and Miletus in all their glory.
While preparations are already underway for the reopening of the north wing of the Pergamon Museum in 2027, the next phase of construction is now starting:
extensive renovation work is starting in the south wing and Miletus Hall. The museums – the Museum of the Ancient Near East, the Collection of Classical Antiquities and the Museum of Islamic Art – have already vacated their exhibition spaces. Only the monumental structures remain: the Ishtar Gate, the Processional Way of Babylon and the Market Gate of Miletus.
From 7 to 9 March 2025, the empty rooms and impressive masonry will be accessible once again. At this time, the world-famous buildings can still be seen without protective enclosures. During these special days, information boards and guides will provide information about the planned measures and the challenges of the renovation work, which must be carried out in accordance with the preservation order.
