Experience about 20,000 animals during 365 days a year

Some 20,000 animals representing almost 1,100 species live in the 33-hectare site at the heart of Berlin’s City West. A combination of historic buildings and state-of-the-art animal habitats creates a very special atmosphere throughout Zoo Berlin. Every day of the year, stars of the animal kingdom like elephants, gorillas and sea lions delight visitors of all ages – together with rare and lesser-known species.

Visiting the Pandas at Berlin Zoo

Pandas Meng Meng and Jiao Qing are two clear visitor favourites. These adorable Asian bears live in Zoo Berlin’s Panda Garden – one of the most beautiful panda habitats in the world. In August 2024, panda cubs were born - twice over: the panda twins, who immediately captured the hearts of Berliners and visitors alike!
