Your admission ticket to Cecilienhof Country House

Built between 1913 and 1917 in the English country house style, Cecilienhof Country House is the last palace to be built by the Hohenzollern dynasty. Emperor Wilhelm II (1859-1941) had the residence built for his eldest son, Crown Prince Wilhelm (1882-1951). Until 1945 it was the residence of the last German Crown Prince and Crown Princess Wilhelm and Cecilie of Prussia (1886-1954).

A stage for world history

From 17 July to 2 August 1945, the palace at the gates of Berlin became the scene of world history, the site of the Potsdam Conference, where the heads of state and government of the three main victorious powers of the Second World War, the USA, Great Britain and the Soviet Union, discussed the future of Germany as well as a political and territorial reorganisation of Europe and the world. While the Second World War was over in Europe and the "Big Three", Harry S. Truman, Winston Churchill and Josef Stalin were negotiating, the fighting in Asia and the Pacific region continued unabated, culminating in the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August 1945.

Please note that the single ticket for Cecilienhof Country House entitles you to a single visit to Cecilienhof Country House, with the exception of the Crown Prince's Apartment on the 1st floor. This can only be visited separately with a guided tour. Tickets are available at the palace box office.
