The early Gothic Kloster Lehnin, a former Cistercian abbey, and its church dedicated to St Mary are probably the most well-known buildings in the municipality of Kloster Lehnin [southwest of Potsdam created in 2002 from the merger of fourteen villages]. The monastery grounds with their thick, cool walls bear witness to centuries of history presented in a museum on-site.
