Pankow - The whole world in one district
In just under an hour's travelling time, you can travel around the world in the district of Pankow. It is best to plan enough time for stops, as there is a lot to discover.
As one of Berlin's most diverse districts, Pankow is home to beautiful parks and old, middle-class neighbourhoods as well as the River Panke, along which you can cycle. Pankow is also Prenzlauer Berg with its lively shops and restaurants as well as the Sunday flea market in Mauerpark.
The tour starts and ends at Volkspark am Weinberg, very close to the busy transport hub of Rosenthaler Platz, where there is an underground station and several tram lines.

Tour Highlights
From Volkspark am Weinberg, the route leads to the Zion Church. Every Sunday, a small but nice flea market takes place on the nearby Arkonaplatz. You will find a large flea market in Mauerpark. Musicians and street artists can be found around the flea market on Sundays. Families use the barbecue area to relax.
The Pankeweg trail takes you a little further out. This marked hiking and cycling trail follows the Panke - a river that rises in Brandenburg and flows into the Spree right by the Brecht Theatre Berliner Ensemble.
Enjoy the peace, sunshine and plant splendour of the 12-hectare Bürgerpark Pankow - the largest and perhaps most beautiful park area in Pankow. Shortly afterwards, you will arrive in the palace park and in front of Schönhausen Palace. For many years, the palace was the official guesthouse of the GDR. After the fall of the Wall, the "Round Table" met here. Today there is an exhibition on the history of the castle.
On the way back, you will see Schönhauser Allee with the historic elevated railway line of the underground line 2. Finally, you will make a detour to the Kulturbrauerei. Here you will find several clubs, a cinema, a concert hall and much more. Street food markets are often held on Sundays in summer.
