This year, the children's carnival is committed to funding open child and youth work, child and youth cultural work and political education for children and young people.
The colourful costume parade will be a colourful demonstration this year!
The subsequent children's and family festival in Görlitzer Park with music, dance, games and fun will make this day a special experience for all Berlin children. Children's and youth groups perform on the music and dance stages and present their skills.KiKa wants to make it possible for all participating children, families and visitors to experience a creative, peaceful and forward-looking togetherness. Especially in times when social differences are becoming ever more apparent, the children's carnival is more important than ever. It demonstrates the diversity and necessity of a vibrant children's culture and shows that culture for children plays a central role in the future of our society.

B A C K G R O U N D
The Berlin Children's Carnival of Cultures was launched in 1996 and since then has been held annually in Berlin-Kreuzberg on Whit Saturday, the day before the big Carnival of Cultures. It is a family-friendly festival that is orientated towards the needs and interests of children. For 29 years, the children's carnival has sent out a strong signal against prejudice and discrimination and is committed to the full participation of all children.
The children's carnival is now one of the largest non-commercial, grassroots-organised children's and family festivals in Berlin. In addition to the vision of an intercultural children's festival, it is a central concern to establish the children's carnival as a forum for child and youth work. It offers organisations the opportunity to present their diverse offerings to a broad public.
