The power of magical thinking
Imagine entering a place where mysticism, magic and human history come together in a fascinating way. The MAGICUM - Berlin Magic Museum is no ordinary museum: it is an experience for all the senses, a poetic place where cultural history and magic come together in a magical way. Founded by former dancers Auguste Gischler and Rob Brown, the privately run museum brings together their passion for diversity, movement and world cultures in a unique collection. Over the years, they have collected ritual objects, mysterious artefacts and magical knowledge from all over the world on their travels - including as a dancing couple on the MS Deutschland, known as "The Dream Ship".
In the MAGICUM, you can embark on a journey of discovery that takes you from ancient Egypt to Germanic myths and Far Eastern meditation techniques. Take a look at the world of alchemy, tarot cards, magic mirrors and runes - history comes alive and can be experienced interactively here. Multimedia installations, hands-on stations and a stylishly staged ambience make the visit a real highlight for families, culture enthusiasts and anyone looking for something out of the ordinary. The MAGICUM presents this world from a playful and magical perspective and offers its guests above all interactive experiences: make water dance, discover your own magical powers and immerse yourself in the mysterious world of the inexplicable!

History: a cellar labyrinth of occult things
The Hamburger Hof was built in the Spandauer Vorstadt district around 1820. At the time, the building mainly housed craft businesses such as bronze foundries and carpentry workshops. Its current appearance can be traced back to the concept of the architects nps Tchoban Voss. Today, the museum is located in the basement, which is characterised by an appropriate ambience: The old vaulted cellar resembles a labyrinth. The rooms seem to spread out like the world of magic. The exhibits come from different cultures. You can learn more about medieval alchemy, the earlier combination of magic and science and the superstitions of European religions. The mysticism of primitive peoples brings the afterlife to life. All practices and objects are categorised historically and culturally.
