1971 in a village in southern Germany. After completing an apprenticeship as a tailor in the city, 20-year-old Roberta returns to her parents' farm. She is the only child and will one day be the farmer's wife. Here in the country, coming to terms with the past, conscientious objection, feminism, pop culture and miniskirts are not something we concern ourselves with.
