This area between Kreuzberg and Neukölln has established itself as one of the most trendiest districts in Berlin. Long-time Berliners and creative types live here alongside students and designers newly moved to the city. In short: the most diverse people from all over the world come together here. Weserstraße and Hochbrechtsstraße form the core of the neighbourhood.
Weserstraße offers a rich variety of experiences. People come from all over Berlin to party, shop in the sophisticated boutiques, and eat their way around the globe in the many bars and restaurants that have settled here over the years. The area around Reuterplatz, the so-called Reuterkiez, mixes the raw charm of Neukölln with international flair, while the Maybachufer area offers plenty of cosy restaurants and cafés perfect for a relaxing evening. Enjoy the view over the romantic banks of the Landwehr Canal lined with numerous old buildings. The Ankerklause and its jukebox have become a Berlin institution. Quentin Tarantino allegedly partied here whilst shooting "Inglorious Basterds" in the city.
A little further south, at the Rathaus Neukölln station, you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Enjoy fantastic views over Berlin from the top parking lot at Neukölln Arcaden. The Klunkerkranich is a spacious rooftop terrace with a lot of flowers and plants. The many wooden elements have a casual and improvised effect and are perfect for giving your fantasies free rein.
What's the best way to get to Weserstraße?
Weserstraße is between the Schönleinstraße (U8), Rathaus Neukölln (U7) and Herrmannplatz (U7, U8) stations. It takes about 10 minutes from any of these to walk to Weserstraße. The M41 bus from Central Station or Potsdamer Platz can also take you to Fuldastraße. Night owls can also take the N7 after midnight since the U-Bahn does not run at night on weekdays.
And, finally, a request:
Being really loud at night is no good. After all, Berliners do need to go to sleep sometime; they might just have to go to work the next day. Therefore, please try to consider the residents and keep it down after 10 pm.
