Provenance Research Day

Sámi collections in European museums have a long history. Since 17th century Sámi heritage has been collected from Sápmi. Today, many museums are struggling with indigenous heritage and how to work with it and what to do about repatriation.

This discussion will look at the relationship to ancestral heritage, what it means and how it can influence the duodji (Sámi handicraft) today. Provenance researcher Eeva-Kristiina Nylander and duojárat (Sámi artisans) Ellen Berit Dalbakk, Lova Isabella Lundberg, Elle Valkeapää and Heini Wesslin discuss these and other questions related to museum collections and duodji.

This event will be held in English and is included in museum admission.
