On April 16, 1945, Valerie Faminsky and the first Soviet soldiers reached embattled Berlin. His photographs depict the war and the first days of peace without propaganda or pathos, but with a deeply humanistic perspective. These images were never published.

In 2016, Ukrainian photojournalist Arthur Bondar discovered the archive and made the photographs available to the public for the first time. Impressed by the discovery, Ana Druga and Thomas Gust founded the publishing house "Buchkunst Berlin" in 2018 and published the photographs in the illustrated book "Berlin May 1945 – Valery Faminsky."

Thomas Gust and Arthur Bondar will guide you through the photo exhibition.
