Turning the Point is a dynamic gathering and dialogue project at Moritzplatz in Berlin-Kreuzberg. It brings together neighborhoods, initiatives, and cultural actors to gather stories, exchange perspectives, and negotiate shared visions of the future. This creates communication spaces where knowledge, experiences, and scope for action are shared and developed further.

Moritzplatz is more than a transportation hub – its history as the site of the Wertheim department store, a border crossing, and a scene of social upheaval makes it a multifaceted place.

Different social milieus, from descendants of Turkish migrant workers to the creative SO36 and long-established businesses, encounter gentrification processes here, which bring displacement and change. Turning the Point provides a platform for these dynamics and asks how an urban fabric can be made to "dance."

The Three Sequences

1. Checkpoint Moritz

Moritzplatz is explored through performative tours by Pia Lanzinger. Encounters with local actors are the focus, while the CLB serves as a starting point and exhibition space.

2. Little Big Cha(lle)nges

Here, social participation and conflicts are negotiated artistically. Marginalized voices in particular are given space to make social tensions visible. Pia Lanzinger's international works provide inspiration for discursive events.

3. Re-Gathering

How can concerns and ideas be sustainably pursued? This final phase brings participants together again to reflect on artistic, cultural, and civic strategies. A book documenting Pia Lanzinger's projects will also be produced.
