The cemetery, inaugurated in 1814, was built on a former vineyard. The tour with Andreas Hungerbühler leads past impressive hereditary burials of personalities from Berlin's history to artistically designed lattice grave fields.

An informative permanent exhibition explains the grave symbolism and cemetery culture of the 19th century and invites visitors to make further discoveries in the listed cemetery. The possibility of taking over grave sponsorships is also presented.
