‘There is less sleep in the world now, longer nights and longer days.’ With these words, Stefan Zweig describes the collective unrest of the summer of 1914 – a mood that seems more relevant today than ever. Boris Randzio translates this atmosphere into movement in his impressive dance piece Sleepless World:

With music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Radiohead, Hania Rani and Studnitzky, he creates a work that oscillates between fear and hope, between past and present – and at the same time looks boldly into a possible future.

The powerful, sensitive choreography is carried by a top-class ensemble:
Ana Đorđević, Brice Asnar, Hannah Stein and Ya-Chun Tsai make the inner tensions of a society visible in intense solos and moving group scenes – with directness, approachability and dance-like precision.

For one evening, Atelier Gardens in Berlin will become a place of emotional density and profound reflection – Sleepless World invites you to surrender to this waking restlessness.

Duration: approx. 70 minutes

  • Dancers: Ana Đorđević, Brice Asnar, Hannah Stein, Ya-Chun Tsai, Boris Randzio
  • Choreography: Boris Randzio
