Wolf Kampmann in Jazzthing 23: "The first bite must not be salad" is the title of the first album by the band "Schikane" with guitarist Jörg Schippa, trumpeter Nikolaus Neuser and drummer Denis Stilke.

Their rebellious patchwork jazz is somewhat reminiscent of the late 1980s and early 1990s, when stylistic breaks, sudden changes in tempo and timbre and jumping back and forth between different reference systems were the order of the day.
This lively album is great fun not only because you obviously share it with the imaginative musicians, but because you never know what awaits you around the next bend."
