The fall of the Berlin Wall and German unity are often seen as the basis for the reorganization of Europe after the Cold War. The most important thing, the peaceful revolution, the self-empowerment of citizens in the GDR and other socialist states, is left out. And the revolution also has a history before and after, which is discussed during the tour.

The tour starts in front of the Zion Church, one of the historical sites of the peace, environmental and human rights movement in East Berlin in the 1980s. But it is also a typical cultural monument of the imperial era and was also a place of resistance during the Nazi dictatorship.

The hike takes in Veteranenberg, Brunnenstrasse, Elisabeth Church and the Chapel of Reconciliation, looking back on two hundred years of cultural history, politics and always also stories of resistance.
