The Museum Köpenick is the Treptow-Köpenick district's repository of memories and a place for collecting, researching, communicating and presenting the district's history. Built in 1665, the half-timbered house is the second oldest building in Köpenick's old town and therefore a sight in its own right.

The permanent exhibition uses numerous exhibits to guide visitors through the history of Köpenick, which was an independent town until 1920, and provides information about important events, places and people. The focus is on prehistory and early history, the fishing and laundry history of Köpenick and the industrialization of the region.
