For his project “Memories”, photo artist Olaf Schlote portrayed Holocaust survivors and explored their lives in Israel.

To mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, the Freundeskreis Willy-Brandt-Haus is showing his exhibition, which was specially designed for the Willy-Brandt-Haus, from 24.01. - 27.04.2025.

Olaf Schlote's work aims to make the incomprehensible visible. The artistic search for traces of the places of remembrance of the National Socialist terror regime leaves room for the viewer's own associations and builds a bridge to the survival and lives of those portrayed.

The diverse artistic forms of expression provide space to trace one's own associations: the movements of life, people and nature.
