A guided tour for children aged 8 - 12 years old

Why did people flee from the GDR to the Federal Republic? How did they manage to escape from one part of Germany to the other? How did children feel when they had to leave their homes and friends?

The two stuffed animals Nepomuck and Bärlihupf, which can be seen in the exhibition of the Marienfelde Refugee Centre, accompanied two children on their way to the West and illustrate their experiences.

Many other objects and stories can be discovered in the exhibition, which the children can use to trace the lives of refugees.
