Scenic reading with music with Teresa Weißbach and Christoph Tomanek

The two shared a close friendship, which later led to passionate love and an extraordinary marriage. It was only five years before Chekhov's death that actress Olga Knipper met Russia's great dramatist.

At that time he was already seriously ill with tuberculosis and lived far away from Moscow, in the Crimea, and moved around what is now eastern Ukraine, while Knipper was working at the Moscow Art Theater.

The physical distance gave rise to an intensive exchange of letters, which, despite all the desire and longing, never lost its humor, lightness or even poetry. Olga Knipper and Anton Chekhov were united not only by their love, but also by their passion for theater. They were each other's inspiration and home, lovers, so close despite being so far away.

This entertaining evening is more than just a simple reading! It is also a staged production and plays with music.

Pieces by Sting, Rio Reiser, Frankie Valli and others can be heard in their own interpretations. Arranged by Teresa Weißbach and Christoph Tomanek.

In autumn 2016, the idea for “My Heart - My Dog” was born by Teresa Weißbach and Christoph Tomanek during their work together at the Hamburger Kammerspiele for the premiere of “DIVEN”. “My Heart - My Dog” celebrated its premiere in Schwerin and has since been successfully performed in Hamburg, Rostock and Chemnitz, among others.
